RealFiction’s Dreamoc 3D display mimics holography
We may not have true holographic displays for several years yet, but in the meantime, there are plenty developers around the world willing to provide us with something that gives the appearance of those. In our previous articles we already wrote about few solutions, and in this article we’re going to describe Dreamoc – a self-contained display box capable to combine real objects with 3D animations.
Built by Danish company RealFiction for the retail environment combining mixed reality, it has a 180 degree viewing angle and is a plug and play system requiring no set up, where content and the physical product are simple to interchange. RealFiction offers a larger version of Dreamoc named Dreamoc XL, which is double the size of the standard unit, perfect for displaying larger products such as shoe brands which previously would not fit in the standard unit.
The dimensions of the XL unit are 1142mm x 776mm x 620mm (45″ x 30.5″ x 24.5″) with 350mm x 498mm (13.7″ x 19.5″) doors at its backside (meant for product inserting) and it weights 75kg (165 pounds). The displays are capable to show image with 1920×1080 resolution. It uses high brightness LED for product exposure.
The smaller version can work at power of 100-240V in frequencies 50-60Hz, making it applicable in worldwide markets, while the XL version has the ability to work at 220-240V and 50Hz. The XL version consumption is 245W, while the consumption of the smaller version is 60W.
It is certainly visually stunning product display with a “wow” factor that generates positive attention. You can rent or purchase the device but the prices haven’t been stated on their website (or the websites of their resellers). For the time being, it is an impressive marketing tool which could turn many heads when it’s properly placed.
